It should surprise no one that I'm giddy with anticipation over Scream 4. Say what you will about the series, but the thought of another slasher sequel hitting theaters makes me feel like a little kid at Christmas. Some people have finely aged Scotch while other s prefer an imported Cuban cigar.But my vice is slasher flicks. And today's news has me all kinds of curious.

Our friends at Scream Trilogy have cobbled together a series of Tweets from Ghostface's manufacturer, R.J. Torbert:

I expect there to be 2 diff masks, however I will say this, things changing very often – difficult to say without giving it away.

Sent out additional GHOSTFACE to the SET today, a very interesting opening scene.

Lets just say, the town of Woodsboro, has an obsession. There is your hint.

So while this doesn't tell us a whole hell of a lot about where Scream 4 is headed, it's a fun bit of news for rampant slasher geeks like myself to speculate over. For starters, we're looking at the possibility of two different masks. You know they're not going to be changing up the classic Ghostface look, so what else is there? Kevin Williamson seems delighted by the fact that fans want to know, which is why he Tweeted pics of a zombified Ghostface along with a scarecrow mock-up a while back.

Personally, I'm loving the Zombie Ghostface a ton. So much so that I hope it makes an appearance in the film if only because it bears more than a little resemblance to Rob Zombie's bombastic take on Michael Myers. And since we know that Scream 4 will, in part, tackle the Hollywood remake trend, I'm hoping and praying for more than a few subtle jabs at those Rob Zombie atrocities. Zombie Ghostface looks like he's poised to do just that.

I'm also keen on hearing that the story will deal with Ghostface's lasting effect on the sleepy little town of Woodsboro. Does that mean we're going to get some copycat psychos run amok? One of the best things about the first few Halloween sequels is how they acknowledge Michael Myers impact on the community, and I'd love to get a little of that in here.

Hey, Scream 4, no pressure, but I'm looking to you to give the genre the same sort of adrenalized kick in the ass you delivered back in 1996. The mainstream horror genre is wallowing in the muck here if you haven't noticed. It's been ten years since the last film and I think enough time has passed that you have something to say again. Think you can help us out?
