Some more casting news has just come in for Wes Craven's Scream 4 hot on the heels of the exit of Lake Bell and Lauren Graham. Looks like old Ghostface is going to have some completely new victims to sink his blade into.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Adam Brody, Marley Shelton and Erik Knudsen (pictured below) will be joining previous survivors Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, as well as fresh meat Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin and Nico Tortorella in Wes Craven's return to the stab-happy franchise.

Brody will play a cop recently graduated from college who was raised on the "CSI" TV series, Shelton (replacing Lake Bell) will play a deputy who knew Campbell's character in high school, and Knudsen will have a role similar to the one played by Jamie Kennedy in the first two installments.

Look for the film in theatres on April 15th, 2011.

Ever since the Paranormal Activity 2 trailer hit the Net, people have been speculating about everything that they've seen and heard or thought that they've seen or heard, so we decided to dig a little deeper and bring you the images you've been wondering about.

If you watch the teaser trailer over at the official Paranormal Activity 2 website, at the very end you'll find the quick frame that you see below. We've capped it. Blew it up and finally twisted the image around.

In image one you'll notice that even though the baby in the shot is standing up in its crib in the mirror, it's not present in the actual room. Even more curious ... you'll notice something scrawled in the mirror toward the bottom left-hand corner.

In image two you'll see a better close up of these words. Still not making sense? Then check out image three as we flipped things around so it's readable -- "What is happening to Hunter?"

If you listen carefully to the audio during the end title treatment of the trailer below, you can even hear the word Hunter play as the film is being reversed.

What does that all mean? Who's Hunter? The baby? The dog? Who knows, but damn, we sure are curious. More soon. Dig on the images below. Click them to see them larger.

Once again, check out the first official teaser trailer for Paranormal Activity 2, which is being directed by Tod (Kip) Williams below.

To stay tuned to all things Paranormal Activity related, keep your eye on the official Paranormal Activity website, and follow the film on Twitter (@TweetYourScream)!

Early Details on the IT Remake

Stephen King's IT Remake Going TheatricalI often try hard to not be another cynical voice on the Internet, but it's news like this that finds me shaking my head in disbelief. Anyone whose read Stephen King's IT knows that it can't possibly work as a single feature-length film, right? We also know that it isn't stopping Warner Bros. from trying. And while the project is still in development, read on for what screenwriter Dave Kajganich had to say about it.

Last year we told you that the IT remake was moving forward and, one year later, we still only know about that much. But the Stephen King fansite, Lilja's Library had a very interesting conversation with screenwriter Dave Kajganich about his approach to the project which, as of now, is steadily moving forward.

In all of my talks with the studio, it has only ever been discussed as a single feature film. The book's length is clearly more suited to a mini-seriesand I understand very well why they went that route the last time aroundbut I think the books content is really more appropriate for cinema. I told the studio from the beginning that I felt I needed to be able to write for an R rating, since I wanted to be as candid as the novel about the terrible things the characters go through as kids. They agreed and off I went.

Kajganich also spoke on the seemingly impossible (and unenviable) task of consolidating the novel without losing sight of the story: I think the biggest difference is that were working with about two-thirds the onscreen time they had for the miniseries. That sounds dire, I know, but it doesnt necessarily mean two-thirds the amount of story. Im finding as many ways as I can to make certain scenes redundant by deepening and doubling others. To me, this is an interesting process because it has the effect of thematically intensifying the whole, but it can lead to dramatic surprises. Certain scenes I thought would be crucial to the coherence of the whole ended up cut, while other scenes, which were somewhat cursory in the book, ended up being pivotal in the script.

The writer was, at one time, attached to the Paramount Pet Sematary remake, but the 'all knowing' powers-that-be decided that the film should be tailored to a much younger audience, which meant that Ellie Creed was suddenly going to be the focal point of the film ... and a teenager.

Some stills from Jaume Balaguero's Sleep Tight (formerly Flatmate) have begun filtering across the web and we've got a sneak peak that should satisfy your curiosity.

Dig on the pictures beneath the plot crunch and, if you like 'em, be sure to head over to Aullidos for even more of them.

Synopsis
We all know who our friends are, but what about our acquaintances? Those people who play a small part in our everyday lives, how well do we really know them? And how well do they know us?

Marcos works as a doorman in a Barcelona apartment building. Happiness eludes him, and he feels the need to reaffirm his reasons for living on a daily basis. He goes about his day-to-day work mainly unnoticed by the residents of the building, but he pays close attention to them. He knows all the intimate details of their lives, everything about them, especially one of them. Clara King is a happy-go-lucky young woman who always looks on the positive side of things. Her cheery attitude toward life makes Marcos' skin crawl. He won't be happy until he has wiped that smile of her face once and for all because Marcos feeds off other people's pain. He delights in the unhappiness and anguish of others, and he loves nothing more than to plant the seed of misery and watch it grow. In Clara he has found the perfect target, and he will go to extreme lengths to make her life miserable. But Marcos is starting to get a bit too cocky, and soon his carefully thought out plans will start to unravel...

Luckily for him, he has one last ace up his sleeve.

Vampire Responsible for Car Crash!Well, here it is. My favorite news story since Jeremy London was allegedly kidnapped and forced to do drugs. This particular piece finds an interesting culprit responsible for a car accident. You won't want to miss the video inside, believe me.

It seems that a Colorado woman is citing vampires as the main reason for crashing her car into a canal. The incident occured on Tuesday evening, according to Fox KDVR News.

The woman claims she spotted a vampire in the middle of a dirt road near Fruita, Colo. Sunday night. She told Colorado State Troopers she was startled by the undead being, threw her SUV into reverse, and crashed into a canal.

She was not injured.

State Troopers say the woman's husband arrived at the scene and took her home. The vampire, which was not seen by anyone else, apparently let her get away.

Must've been on of these Twilight vamps, because Valek sure as hell wouldn't let her get away with this shit.

Blu-ray Review: Anchor Bay's 'The Crazies' Remake

Posted: 30 Jun 2010 11:04 AM PDT

I dug it in theaters, and I dug it again at home. While its not going to reinvent the genre, Breck Eisners update of George Romeros (also imperfect) The Crazies is, like the Dawn of the Dead remake, an action movie version of the original horror tale, with much of the social commentary stripped to the bone in favor of scares (many of which are effective) and big action sequences. Two different approaches to the same story, both with merit.

At first I was ranting and raving because I thought this was a remake of the classic Ron Howard flick Night Shift, about two dudes who turn a morgue into a prostitution ring. It's not, thankfully, and so now I can report the news without bias.

Producer/director Thomas Smith recently wrapped filming on his upcoming horror/comedy The Night Shift. What is this, you might be asking yourself. Thankfully, we've got a little plot crunch for you, along with some additional details, below.

The Night Shift is a supernatural-adventure-comedy about Rue Morgan, the undead night watchman at Pinewood Oaks Cemetery. Rue, along with his buddy Herb, a limbless corpse, spends his nights trying to keep the cemetery's cantankerous residents in, and his days dreaming of a date with hard-nosed day-shifter, Claire. It's an okay afterlife until a scourge of supernatural occurrences leaves Rue not only watching the cemetery, but also watching his back!

That's a Wrap on Night Shift

While we have no idea on what type of distribution is in store for this flick, Smith says the current plan is to take it out to film festivals in the hopes of drumming up interest. Check these guys out on Facebook and Twitter, or stop by the official site for all you'll ever need to know.

Paranormal Activity 2 Teaser Trailer Frightening Twilight Fans

Thank you for using rssforward.com! This service has been made possible by all our customers. Now here is some news we're only too happy to report! For years now in our above taxonomy, nearly every time we mention the Twilight movie franchise, we include the search term "Teenage Girls Shitting Their Pants", and as a result we've become the #1 Google search term for said subject. Sorry, scat fans. Now that the teaser trailer for Paranormal Activity 2 is attached to prints of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, it has become apparent that our pants shitting joke has come to fruition! Oh, happy day!

Reports have been coming in that the teaser trailer has been pulled from a number of theatres across the country after scaring the hell out of parents and their kids who attended last night's midnight Eclipse screenings. We don't want to spoil the tweeners' or the cougars' sparkling good time, now do we? *snicker*

This is without question the funniest thing to happen since last year's Comic-Con, when a gory Final Destination kill montage was screened to a packed hall of Twi-hards before their New Moon panel. Sometimes life is good. Really good.

The trailer itself has caused a buzz amongst the fanbase, who are looking to draw clues as to the film's events from it. Some say they hear voices being played backwards or even disembodied voices and imagery hiding within the trailer that tease "What is happening to Hunter?" What do you think?

Once again, check out the first official teaser trailer for Paranormal Activity 2, which is being directed by Tod (Kip) Williams below.

To stay tuned to all things Paranormal Activity related, keep your eye on the official Paranormal Activity website, and follow the film on Twitter (@TweetYourScream)!

Look for the film in theatres October 22nd of this year.

All the info you need regarding the latest horror comedy infused import from the UK, Tormented, is here including your first look at the US artwork!

From the Press Release
Every school seems to have that one poor kid who gets picked on mercilessly. But in TORMENTED, bullying results in unimaginable horror for the tormentors and the innocent alike. The darkly funny, seriously twisted shocker from Britain makes its U.S. premiere on DVD from IFC Films via MPI Media Group on August 31, 2010, carrying an SRP of $24.98.

Can revenge reach beyond the grave? As TORMENTED begins, Darren Mullet (Calvin Dean, The Duchess), an awkward, bullied boy, has committed suicide. Few of the uniform-wearing kids at his prep school can do anything but snicker, except for sweet Justine (Tuppence Middleton, Chatroom), who delivers a eulogy while admitting she can't remember ever meeting the dead boy.

But Mullet certainly knew her – and remembered every humiliation he suffered at school. As school resumes and the days pass, Mullet's unrepentant tormentors begin getting weird and threatening text messages from, apparently, the dead boy's phone. They assume they're being pranked by his only friend, the timid Jason (Olly Alexander, Bright Star), and begin to gang up on the scrawny kid. But when taunting texts turn to actual torture, dismemberment and murder, no one at school is safe and everyone is a suspect – even the beautiful Justine. The biting and suspenseful TORMENTED's bright and talented young cast also includes Alex Pettyfer (Tom Brown's Schooldays), April Pearson (Skins) and Georgia King (Agatha Christie: Poirot).

TORMENTED, which was featured at the Lund Fantastik Film Festival in Sweden, received great reviews upon its U.K. release. Mark Adams of The Sunday Mirror wrote: "Cool, sexy, amusing and nicely chilling, TORMENTED is a smart bit of home-grown slasher mayhem." "It's diverting, occasionally moving, and has two secret weapons, teen heart-throb Alex Pettyfer and newcomer Tuppence Middleton," said Charlotte O'Sullivan in The London Evening Standard. The Daily Mirror's David Edwards wrote: "Enjoyably gruesome, and with some timely comments about the recent craze for cyber-bullying, here's a horror perfectly pitched at its teenage target audience." "Brilliantly funny at times, it's well worth a look," said The Sunday Mail.

According to our buds at Bloody Disgusting, Sony Stage 6 - the company behind the direct-to-disc 30 Days of Night sequel - is gearing up for an August shoot for this latest take on the good time gone horribly awry.

As previously reported, Scott Spiegel will be in the director's chair working from a screenplay by Michael Weiss. Hostel Part III will head to Vegas, where a bachelor party goes anything but well. Eli Roth will return to produce.

Look for more soon!

Vivendi Dishes More Horrors on Blu-ray This Fall -- Feast, Black Christmas, and MoreVivendi Entertainment announced today that they will be releasing a load of horror flicks to Blu-ray this fall just in time for the Halloween season. Whether or not you're gonna want to rewatch or buy them, well ... that's another story entirely!

According to Blu-ray.com Vivendi Visual Entertainment has announced four horror movies from the Weinstein/Dimension library for release on Blu-ray in the lead-up to the Halloween horror viewing season. The studio will release Pulse on September 7th, Feast on September 14th, Prey on September 28th and Black Christmas (the 2006 remake) on October 19th. Edition details and special features have not been detailed.

Actually, the thought of a monster ejaculating on to someone's face in 1080p kind of excites us so Feast is a no-brianer of a purchase, as for the others? Not so much, although we're pretty certain at least MattFini will be buying Black Christmas!

Official Synopsis: The Thing Prequel

How do you get over hump day? On the back of the official synopsis for next year's prequel to the John Carpenter classic The Thing, that's how!

The Thing (2011) will strike theaters on April 29, 2011. The science-fiction horror thriller is currently the only nationwide release scheduled for that weekend, and it slots into the same timeframe that the Nightmare on Elm Street remake haunted earlier this year.

Matthijs van Heijningen, Jr. is directing from a screenplay by Eric Heisserer and Ronald D. Moore. The cast includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Joel Edgerton, Jonathan Walker, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Dennis Storhøi, Trond Espen Seim, Jørgen Langhelle, Eric Christian Olsen, Stig Henrik Hoff, Jan Gunnar Røise, Kristofer Hivju, and Jo Adrian Haavind.

Synopsis
"Antarctica: an extraordinary continent of awesome beauty. It is also home to an isolated outpost where a discovery full of scientific possibility becomes a mission of survival when an alien is unearthed by a crew of international scientists. The shape-shifting creature, accidentally unleashed at this marooned colony, has the ability to turn itself into a perfect replica of any living being. It can look just like you or me, but inside, it remains inhuman. In the thriller THE THING, paranoia spreads like an epidemic among a group of researchers as they're infected, one by one, by a mystery from another planet. Paleontologist Kate Lloyd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) has traveled to the desolate region for the expedition of her lifetime. Joining a Norwegian scientific team that has stumbled across an extraterrestrial ship buried in the ice, she discovers an organism that seems to have died in the crash eons ago. But it is about to wake up. When a simple experiment frees the alien from its frozen prison, Kate must join the crew's pilot, Carter (Joel Edgerton), to keep it from killing them off one at a time. And in this vast, intense land, a parasite that can mimic anything it touches will pit human against human as it tries to survive and flourish."

Twilight Saga: Eclipse Surpasses New Moon's Midnight Opening Box Office Record

In what's surely no surprise to anyone, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (review here) is already shattering box office records, leaving its predecessors Twilight and New Moon in the dust.

Box Office Mojo reports: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse ripped into the record books with its midnight launch, grossing over $30 million at more than 4,000 theaters. That surpassed The Twilight Saga: New Moon's previous benchmark of $26.3 million. Included in Eclipse's sum was a new IMAX midnight milestone of over $1 million at 192 venues, topping Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen's $959,000.

Though it may have fewer screens than New Moon's estimated 8,500 due to a more competitive market, Eclipse is packing more than enough showings to satisfy demand over the Independence Day holiday session, which will span six days, from Wednesday through Monday.

Check back after the holiday weekend to see how Eclipse fares in relation to Summit's expectation for it to gross $150 million in its first six days, including $60 million for the Friday-to-Sunday period.

Twilight Saga: Eclipse Surpasses New Moon's Midnight Opening Box Office Record

In David Slade's Eclipse Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

Red Riding Hood Comes EarlyWarner Brothers announced today that Catherine Hardwicke's Red Riding Hood is going to be hitting theatres a month earlier on March 11, 2011, so all those prospective wolves out there had better brush-up on their grandma acts!

Red Riding Hood, written by David Johnson (Orphan), and starring Amanda Seyfried, Shiloh Fernandez, Max Irons, Michael Hogan, Julie Christie, Lukas Hass, and Gary Oldman, is a retelling of the old Red Riding Hood bedtime story that we can only hope comes sans any sparkling entities and/or underwearwolves. Oh, who are we kidding? We know that they will be there. Either way, we'll be watching and hoping for the best.

The original fairy tales by The Brothers Grimm were deliciously dark so keep your fingers crossed that at least some of that content makes it in.

Anyone that has seen the movie Timecrimes can attest to one thing, and that's the fact that when it comes to terror and suspense Spanish director Nacho Vigalondo really knows his stuff, and his latest film really has our attention!

Over on Nacho Vigalondo official blog the director revealed that his next project will be something called Extraterrestre which translates to Alien.

Our friends over at Sci-Fi Latino have translated the plot. Dig on it below and look for more on this one soon!

"Vigalondo writes that this will not be like a War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise, where a regular person manages to somehow closely witness all major invasion events. He writes that most people will experience a global alien invasion without even knowing it has happened, by listening to rumors, or engaging in pointless activities. Hence Extraterrestre."

That's why whenever this demented duo get together for a new project they immediately get our attention. Enter their new flick DracuL.A..

The only thing that we know about the film at press time is that it will be a modern retelling of the story of Vlad the impaler, and for right now that's good enough for us to get excited! Why? Because we hear that they're more excited about this project than any other, and when these two get enthusiastic the blood flows freely and the sick is piled on nice and think!

Dig on some really early concept art below and look for more on this one really soon!
