Posted: 13 Aug 2010 08:09 AM PDT

Arriving in the UK on August 20th on DVD and then on Blu-ray on August 23rd from Revolver is Asham Kamboj's Basement. Watch the trailer debut inside. "Returning from an anti-war demo, the chaos of horror ensues when stoner Gary (Danny Dyer - Severance), quiet and insular Sarah (Kierston Wareing Fish Tank), vain Saffron (Lois Winstone Beyond The Rave), posh Pru (Emily Beecham 28 Weeks Later) and Pru's arrogant boyfriend Derek (Jimi Mistry - RocknRolla) stop in the country. When Derek and the flirtatious Saffron find an unexplained metal hatch in the middle of the forest, curiosity wins and they decide to explore inside. Searching for their missing friends, Gary, Pru and Sarah are forced to follow, but the hatch locks behind them, and the shadows that lurk in the darkness force the whole group to run for their lives... In this fight of good versus evil - only the most evil will survive."

Blu-ray Review: Anchor Bay's 'After.Life'

Anchor Bay gave After.Life a traditionally crappy Anchor Bay theatrical release earlier this spring, but DVD/Blu-Ray is where it will find its audience, so I don't know why they bothered. 75% of the movie takes place in a mortician's lab, and nothing much happens it's hardly the type of movie you have to see on the big screen. It simply plays better at home, and also makes a 2nd viewing (or at least some rewinding) much easier on your wallet.

'The Experiment' Officially Announced for DVD/Blu-ray

Posted: 12 Aug 2010 06:26 PM PDT

Academy Award winners Adrien Brody (star of Predators; Winner of Best Actor, The Pianist, 2002) and Forest Whitaker (Repo Men) star in the adrenaline-charged drama The Experiment, debuting on Blu-ray Disc and DVD September 21st from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The shocking psychological thriller unfolds when 24 men are chosen to participate in the roles of guards and prisoners in a study designed to evaluate the affects of power and control. Values are tested and lines are crossed when seemingly normal participants are pushed to the breaking point as the experiment spirals out of control. The powerful remake of the 2002 German film Das Experiment co-stars Clifton Collins Jr. (The Boondock Saints: All Saint's Day), Cam Gigandet (Twilight) and Maggie Grace (TV's Lost).
