In what is bound to confuse a lot of people, Fox is continuing the proclamation made by Joss Whedon that the Dark Horse comic series is the official eighth season of the classic television series. As such, season 8 will be released as a motion comic DVD on January 4th, 2011.
For those of you attending Comic-Con, stop by the Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment booth (#4313) for a first look at an exclusive motion comic trailer. The Dark Horse booth (#2615) will also screen the trailer while offering a signing with creator Joss Whedon.
If you can't wait for the DVD release, they are available on iTunes right now.
