There are very few, very few, films in this world that I love more than Paul Verhoeven's 1987 masterpiece, RoboCop. It's a near-perfect mixture of hilarious satire, unabashedly brutal violence and with underlying story of humanity to give it some heart. Very few films are this good. Period. And that's why I'm excited about this news.
HighDef Digest tells us that MGM will be releasing the RoboCop trilogy to Blu-ray, although they've yet to provide a date.
My fingers are crossed for a remastered transfer for the original film - and one without excessive DNR, please! And it'd be super cool if they could be bothered to slap some supplementary material on RoboCop 2 as well. Providing these flicks look and sound excellent, I'll double dip for Alex J. Murphy, even if it means I have to own RoboCop vs. Cyborg Ninjas.
