Mitch Davis makes no bones about it ... when it comes to the Fantasia Film Festival 2010 he's not pulling any punches, nor has he ever. Another flick making it's Canadian premiere at the festival is Marc D. Levitz's absolutely devastating BTK documentary Feast of the Assumption: BTK and the Otero Family Murders , and we've got the latest one-sheet for you!

"It is not a documentary based on facts different real ( kind commonly known as " true crime " ) . At least not as we are accustomed to seeing . This is not about a serial killer, nor a display of gory details of atrocities , even if these two elements are part of the experience . This is a film about a victim , Charlie Otero, who survived the actions of a killer . At the age of 15 years, Charlie 's life was destroyed following the massacre of his family during the attack random strangers. Destiny wanted that Charlie and his family are the first victims of this serial killer has raged for decades , a man who liked to send letters to the media signed BTK, that is to say, "bind" (attach) "Torture" (torture), "kill" (kill).

Filmed over several years , this stunning documentary presents Charlie in 2004 , 30 years after losing his family , where the identity of BTK was not yet known (the latter was arrested during filming, giving a completely Another guideline to the story ). We follow Charlie as he attempts to restore meaning to his life after a short incarceration . We observe how the scars of its past furnish most of its existence until the advent of an unexpected event : the capture and revelation of the identity of BTK. This is Dennis Rader , a man who already was dangerously ordinary cub leader and chairman of the congregation of his parish . What makes this even more disturbing when one learns that Rader loved stealing the underwear of his victims to wear them.

Charlie had no choice , he must go to court and listen ... . Confessions impassive Rader in the courtroom are part of the most disconcerting to have been captured by a camera. Explore this monster through the eyes of Charlie is not just a shattering experience , it allows us to confront the evil incarnate . By focusing on the victim rather than the monster , director Marc Levitz reverses the conventions and offer us a film even more fascinating that he would himself have imagined . It focuses on Charlie and sympathize with him in his battle against his demons as he tries to build a new life under the cloud of past horrors . You will be speechless when the credits scroll on the screen."

Look for the film to play the festival on July 14, 2010 at 9:45PM and then again on July 18, 2010 at 5:00PM. Click on the Fantasia banner below for more info!
