'Chain Letter' Passed Onto DVD/Blu-ray February 1

Posted: 08 Dec 2010 12:49 PM PST

Electronic mail. Cell-phone texting. Unthinkable a generation ago, these technological marvels are considered by many as life-saving devices. But what if these contributions become an instrument of murder when your death is announced in the subject line? On February 1, Image Entertainment releases Chain Letter a story of a deadly communiqué carrying a message of murder, if the recipient dares to break the chain. Where the e in e-mail could mean execution, after a national theatrical release, Chain Letter will be available on DVD in separately-available rated and unrated versions for an SRP of $27.97, on Blu-ray™ for an SRP of $29.97 as well as digital download. The unrated version contains new footage not seen in the theatrical release.

I still can't believe how many "best of the worst" lists this year failed to mention James Nguyen's horrible masterpiece Birdemic: Shock & Terror; it shows you how much they really know. Severin announced today that they'll be bringing the event to your own living room on February 22 on both DVD and Blu-ray. Specs have yet to be revealed but we're told there are going to be TONS, including an amazing behind-the-scenes feature chronicling the film's limited theatrical run. In the film a platoon of eagles & vultures attack the residence of a small town. Many people died. It's not known what caused the flying menace to attack. Two people managed to fight back, but will they survive BIRDEMIC? Why did the eagles and vultures attack?

UK Trailer for Japanese 'The Shock Labyrinth'

Yet another crappy Japanese horror film is making its way to UK DVD on January 31 as they'll see the release of Takashi Shimizu's (Ju-On, Marebito) terrible, terrible The Shock Labyrinth 3D, which I beg you to avoid at all costs. Need a little evidence? Check out the UK trailer inside. The pic follows a group of teenagers dealing with the disappearance of one of them, Yuki, at an amusement park's ghost house. On a rainy day 10 years later, Yuki inexplicably returns. However, no sooner is she united with her former friends than she collapses, and the group rushes Yuki to a nearby hospital. But after checking in, they discover that things are not quite as they seem at the medical centre. As the night wears on, the group sinks deeper and deeper into the events from a decade ago that led to Yuki's disappearance.

A black laced hand prevents her from screaming. The wind lifts her dress and caresses her thighs. A razor blade brushes her skin, where will this chaotic and carnivorous journey leave her?
