'The Shock Labyrinth' Gets 3-D UK DVD Release

Another film getting a UK release before here in the States (there's a reason; it's terrible) is TakashiShimizu's The Shock Labyrinth, which Chelsea Films has announced for the 31st of January 2011, priced at around £14.99. The release will include both the 2D and 3D versions of the film, along with two pairs of 3D glasses. Shimizu is the Japanese director behind The Grudge films. The horror-thriller follows a group of teenagers dealing with the sudden return of a friend who went missing a decade ago. When the friend falls ill, they take her to a hospital but end up trapped in a labyrinthine haunted house.

Giallo-esque 'Amer' Gets UK DVD/Blu-ray Release

While we wait for the US home video date, Anchor Bay Entertainment UK has announced the DVD and Blu-ray release of the Giallo-inspired Amer for the 31st of January 2011, priced at around £15.99 and £19.99 respectively. No specs gave been revealed. "Ana is confronted to Body and Desire at three key moments of her life. Her carnal search sways between reality and colored fantasies becoming more and more oppressive. A black laced hand prevents her from screaming. The wind lifts her dress and caresses her thighs. A razor blade brushes her skin, where will this chaotic and carnivorous journey leave her?"

Paramount Reopens 'Case 39' in January

Paramount Home Entertainment has announced DVD and Blu-ray releases of the horrible, horrible Case 39 for January 4th. Extras will include deleted scenes, and 4 featurettes ("Filed Under Evil: Inside Case 39", "Turning Up The Heat On The Chill Factor", "Inside the Hornet's Nest", "Playing with Fire"). "Academy Award winner Renee Zellweger stars in this terrifying, supernatural thriller about a social worker who has been assigned the unusual and disturbing case of Lillith Sullivan…a girl with a strange and mysterious past. When Emily (Renee Zellweger) opens her home in an attempt to help Lillith, it turns into a deadly nightmare she may not survive. Costarring Bradley Cooper (The Hangover), Case 39 is a heart-stopping chiller with startling surprises that lead to a shocking and sinister ending."
