The Devil Creates a 'Gathering' of Horror Greats

The Devil gathers four of historys greatest horror writers to share their scariest stories on Halloween. The result? Horror stars uniting. Kane Hodder (Jason Voorhees in various Friday the 13th), Gunnar Hansen ("Leatherface" in Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Judith O'Dea ("Barbara" in Night of the Living Dead), Udo Kier (Suspiria, Blade), Doug Bradley ("Pinhead" in Hellraiser) and William Sadler (The Mist) lead an all-star cast for Jon Keeyes' The Gathering, which IMDB also says stars Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger), David Naughton (An American Werewolf in London), Debbie Rochon and many more horror vets. Shooting is scheduled for 4th quarter of this year. Here's the plot crunch: "Its All Hallows Eve in purgatory and the Devil has gathered Edgar Allen Poe, Bram Stoker, H.P. Lovecraft and Mary Shelley for a night of storytelling; the winner receiving whatever they desire. Between snide remarks and bickering rivalries, each takes a turn unveiling their tales that include vampires, werewolves, zombies, ghosts, serial killers, and mad scientists. 'The Gathering' follows the successful anthology format with the Devil and the horror authors rounding out the framework. All popular with enormous cult followings, this modern take on the personalities and quirks of these literary legends is often hysterical and genuinely macabre. Contained within the inner stories are unique and original tales that will appeal to the broad mass of horror enthusiasts."

We caught wind of the newly launched official website for Jason Sutton's Zellwood that features the below trailer debut, along with a few stills. The film features 2007 Playboy Playmate of the year (Sara Jean Underwood) and Miss Cuba International 2009 (Patricia Rosales), along with Haley Boyle, Bruster Sampson, Amani Atkinson, Kevin James O'Neill, Chelsea Lee and Julie Anne. "ZELLWOOD is the terrifying story of two young couples taking one last relaxing trip to the country before moving to different cities. Unfortunately, when secrets come out while drinking around the campfire, jealousy takes its toll. The weekend takes an unexpected and deadly twist with a nearby airboat captain and his two daughters caught in the middle."

Daywalt Channels Cronenberg For Insane 'Mama's Baby'

Indie director Drew Daywalt is back with another crazy short film, Mama's Baby, which looks quite simply disgusting. Daywalt informed us that you can catch a sneak peak over at his Facebook page, with one of the grotesque images displayed below. Keep it in your pants buddy. "I dig into some psychosexual David Cronenberg (in the 1980's) kind of stuff with this one," he tells BD. "Thought you guys might enjoy it. [The] creature [is] designed by John Abrahamson and built by Jeff Farley." Here's the plot crunch: "A woman attempts to find personal satisfaction despite the creature locked behind an evil door scratching to get to her..." The short is now in post.
