At first I was ranting and raving because I thought this was a remake of the classic Ron Howard flick Night Shift, about two dudes who turn a morgue into a prostitution ring. It's not, thankfully, and so now I can report the news without bias.
Producer/director Thomas Smith recently wrapped filming on his upcoming horror/comedy The Night Shift. What is this, you might be asking yourself. Thankfully, we've got a little plot crunch for you, along with some additional details, below.
The Night Shift is a supernatural-adventure-comedy about Rue Morgan, the undead night watchman at Pinewood Oaks Cemetery. Rue, along with his buddy Herb, a limbless corpse, spends his nights trying to keep the cemetery's cantankerous residents in, and his days dreaming of a date with hard-nosed day-shifter, Claire. It's an okay afterlife until a scourge of supernatural occurrences leaves Rue not only watching the cemetery, but also watching his back!
While we have no idea on what type of distribution is in store for this flick, Smith says the current plan is to take it out to film festivals in the hopes of drumming up interest. Check these guys out on Facebook and Twitter, or stop by the official site for all you'll ever need to know.
