A slight change has occurred to the lineup of the UK's popular horror film festival Film4 FrightFest due to the withdrawal of Kaboom by its director Gregg Araki. But no worries; Plan B is now in effect, and writer/director Brett Anstey's Damned by Dawn will be screening in its place.

Here's the skinny straight from the Film4 FrightFest website:

We were keeping Brett Anstey's DAMNED BY DAWN for our special Halloween extravaganza because it's not going to be released in the UK until spring 2011. But we've been given special permission to show this gory Australian goodie in August instead by our friends at Odin's Eye Entertainment, and we couldn't be more pleased. DAMNED BY DAWN concerns a Banshee on the loose and is the nearest thing you'll see to an EVIL DEAD 4, its clear Sam Raimi influences making it a remarkably effective piece of visual spookery. So KABOOM is out and DAMNED BY DAWN is now our 6.30 pm, Sunday, August 29 attraction. We just managed to stop the presses on the programme to make the change, meaning our back-to-glossy-cover brochure will be delivered a day later than usual, and just as importantly before our single tickets go on sale on the 31st of July.

As for the rest of the fest, read on for an update:

The final guest list is still being confirmed, but we will definitely be hosting Tobe Hooper of THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE fame; Eli Roth and THE LAST EXORCISM roadshow; Adam Green, Kane Hodder and Danielle Harris from HATCHET II; A SERBIAN FILM director Srdjan Spasojevic; F director Johannes Roberts and cast members; numerous DEAD CERT celebrities; Gemma Atkinson and Isabella Calthorpe from 13 HRS; AMER co-directors Helene Cattet and Bruno Forzani; THE DEAD directors Howard and Jon Ford; WOUND director David Blyth; RED, WHITE & BLUE director Simon Rumley; CHERRY TREE LANE director Paul Andrew Williams; some FANBOY surprises and many other personalities. Oh, and Joe Lynch if he can get away from the set of his latest movie KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM. The VIDEO NASTIES panel discussion will be chaired by journalist and critic Damon Wise and feature Allan Bryce (editor of 'The Dark Side'), Martin Barker (Professor of Film and Television Studies at Aberystwyth University and author of 'The Video Nasties: Freedom and Censorship in the Arts'), Jake West who created the documentary with Marc Morris, a BBFC representative and a director of a film on the banned list.
