The 'Antichrist' Visits Horror in Your House

Posted: 10 Nov 2010 02:50 PM PST

Another November week and as the weather begins to cool (here in L.A.) so have the horror releases. There are, however, several notable films being released today. Lars Von Triers deeply disturbing Antichrist paves the way with a Criterion Blu-ray/DVD release. Tremors finally receives the Blu-ray treatment. Kevin Bacon fans will no doubt be happy. And if you are looking for indie-horror there are several titles being released including Blood Moon Rising, which stars Ron Jeremy.

'Devil' DVD/Blu-Ray Specs And Date Announced

After teasing us with just a release month a few weeks ago, Universal Home Entertainment has officially announced the Devil Blu-Ray and DVD for December 21, almost 3 months to the day of when it hit the big screen. Shyamalan's return to horror (in a producing and story capacity, that is) was a lot better than most people expected, carrying a Twilight Zone vibe and portraying a pretty decent game of 10 Little Indians. Specs are somewhat scarce for the release, and I'm absolutely perplexed by the uHear function, which was apparently included on Ridley Scott's Robin Hood. Is this better than just rewinding it yourself? Can someone explain?

Synapse Brings Hammer's 'Vampire Circus' To Blu-Ray

To celebrate their 100th release, Synapse Films is proud to present Robert Young's Vampire Circus as a Blu-Ray/DVD combo, chock-full of extras. Using a new transfer, which they're billing as "the sharpest, most colorful transfer ever of Robert Youngs Hammer Films classic", it's set to hit shelves on December 14. I've actually never seen this one, and being a huge Hammer fan, I can't wait to see it, especially in high-def.
